Before starting an exercise program

Consider some precautions and consult your doctor if
-Age > 35
-Type 2 Diabetes > 10 years
-Additional cardiovascular disease risks factor
-Microvascular disease
-Autonomic Neuropathy
These criteria are rough guidelines.
Nutrition therapy and moderate exercise have been proven to increase insulin sensitivity and may reduce requirements for drugs.
Increase energy expenditure and reduce weight.
Lowers blood glucose, reduce plasma triglycerides and LDL increase HDL.
Two types of physical activity necessary for type 2 diabetes control.
Strength Training and Aerobic exercise

Aerobic exercise

  Brisk walking, jogging, cycling, dancing, and swimming etc.
Exercise moderate in intensity for 30 to 45 minutes in a day at least 5 days in a week improves metabolism. If you are not active then start from 10 to 15 minute in a day. Increase your duration at least 30 minutes a day. Do not skip. Be regular in your exercise routine.
Patient with knee problems and diabetic foot problems do upper body exercises.
Aerobic exercise lowers blood glucose level and improves blood cholesterol. Makes heart healthy and strong bones. Relieves the stress.

Strength Training

Strength training or resistance training lowers the blood glucose. Bones become strong and prevent osteoporosis. You can do at least two times in a week with aerobic exercise.
Use weight at gym
Resistance band exercise
Heavy gardening

Yoga Routine

 Many purposeful benefits including-

-Help to reduce blood pressure.
Yoga has a major role in improving diabetes control.
